Remove Vehicles From the Driveway and Street for a Clean, Unobstructed View
Vehicles parked in front of the home — whether in the driveway or along the curb — can block important features and distract from the architecture. Clearing them out before the photo session helps ensure the property is fully visible and looks open, tidy, and well presented.
Driveway Photos Are Often Front and Center
The front elevation is typically the first photo buyers see, and a car in the driveway immediately becomes the focal point. It can block views of the garage, front entry, landscaping, or the home itself — all of which are more important for selling the property than the vehicle parked in front of it.
Street Parking Creates Clutter
Even if the driveway is clear, cars parked in front of the house along the street can still appear in wide-angle or front-facing photos. Multiple cars lined up on the curb can make the street feel crowded or take away from the home’s visual impact.
Ask Neighbors for a One-Time Favor
If your neighbors routinely park in front of your home, consider asking them in advance to leave that space open for the day. Most people are happy to help once they know you’re preparing for real estate photos. A friendly heads-up can go a long way toward getting clean, car-free shots.
Temporarily Relocate Cars Around the Corner
Before the session, move all personal vehicles out of the driveway and away from the front curb. Parking them around the corner or down the block ensures they won’t appear in any of the exterior images — and gives the photographer a clear view of the entire front of the home.
With no vehicles in the way, the home feels more open, spacious, and ready for buyers to imagine as their own — which is exactly the purpose of real estate photography.
